Material Science-Juniper Publishers Abstract In this study, prepared the nano composites of Co: La:Tio 2 by the wet chemical method. Synthesized Tio 2 and Co:La:Tio 2 were characterized by X-Ray Diffractometer, SEM,TEM, UV-vis, FT-IR, Band gap energy and BET. The Tio 2 and Co:La:Tio 2 were used as photocatalyst for the degradation of Methyl Blue. The XRD pattern confirmed the presence of anatase and rutile phase in the catalyst. The particle size was estimated by the Scherrer’s and found 68 and 32nm for Tio 2 and Co: La: Tio 2 respectively. The particle morphology of the photocatalysts was found in nanodiamension. The surface area of the photocatalysts were found 37.52 and 106.68m2/g for Tio 2 and Co: La.Tio 2 respectively. The band gap energy of Tio 2 and Co: La.Tio 2 were 3.2 and 3.0eV.
